Prepare Your Vehicle for Fall with 3 Easy Steps!

3 Tips to Prepare your Vehicle for Fall

Fall is here, and the cold weather and hazardous weather conditions are right behind! With that said, it’s time to prepare your vehicle for the coming weather and road conditions, especially if you have an older vehicle. There are many ways to do this but here are three of the best tips for preparing your vehicle for fall and winter!

Check and Replace Wiper Blades

Your windshield wipers are one of the most important and most used pieces of equipment on your vehicle, and as such, they suffer from a ton of wear and tear! Even if you don’t use them often, they dry and hot weather can wear down on them, making them work less efficient and even outright break them. Its why it’s a good idea to replace them as you enter fall, as summer has had its time to wear them down. Replacing them in autumn is a good idea, as that will allow you to get through winter, spring, and summer!

Change Vehicle Fluids

As the temperatures cool it’s as good a time as any to make sure all of your car’s fluids are clean, properly filtered, and topped off as well as can be! It’s good to drain and replace some key fluids, such as the coolant of your vehicle, as the large temperature swings can bring a lot of issues. This is especially true in areas that have an extreme temperature swing, such as northern territories.

Check, Replace, or Rotate your Tires

Finally, we come to the most important part of your vehicle, it’s tires. As we head to a season full of icy roads, you need to make sure that you keep your tires up to par! This means checking the tread, and the tires themselves, for wear and tear, and replacing them as needed. Additionally, rotating the tires is also important, as that will keep wear even across all the tires.
