Like the rest of the 4Runner lineup, the 2021 Toyota 4Runner Trail version will have a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter, V-6 engine under the hood. It will continue to be attached to a five-speed automatic transmission.
Owners can expect the Trail model to make 270 horsepower and 278 pound-feet of torque. If the expansive interior of the 2021 4Runner Trail isn’t enough to haul all your gear, the vehicle will be able to tow up to 5,000 pounds.
Toyota has worked with one of the top suppliers in the outdoor industry to have custom cooler built for the 2021 4Runner Trail. It will offer 40 quarts of storage space and offers a lockable lid. Ice and perishable food can be kept safe for eating thanks to a freezer-grade gasket and an air-tight seal.
According to the automaker, ice stored in the custom cooler can remain frozen for up to seven days. Additionally, the heavy-duty latches have integrated bottle openers, and the top is flat so it can double as a table surface.
