Toyota Safety Sense™ (TSS) is a bundle of active safety features included on many new Toyota vehicles at no additional cost. These innovative features were designed to help protect you and your passengers from harm.
Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection (PCS w/PD) is designed to help detect a vehicle, pedestrian, bicyclist, or motorcyclist and provide an audio/visual forward-collision warning under certain circumstances. If you don't react, the system is designed to provide automatic emergency braking.
Bicyclist Detection
During daylight conditions, the in-vehicle camera and a radar sensor or a laser sensor work together to help detect a bicyclist ahead and will prompt you to take action using audio and visual warnings if a collision is likely.

Intended for highway use, Full-Speed Range DRCC are adaptive cruise control systems designed to be set at speeds above 20 mph and use vehicle-to-vehicle distance control to help maintain a preset distance from the vehicle ahead of you.
Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control
Full-Speed Range DRCC is designed to operate between 0–110 mph. This enables low-speed following, matching speed and, under certain circumstances, stopping before colliding with preceding vehicles on highways. Available only with an automatic transmission.

When white/yellow lane markings or certain road-edge boundary lines are detected at speeds above 30 mph, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist (LDA w/SA) is designed to issue an audio/visual lane departure warning if an inadvertent lane departure is detected. If the driver does not take corrective action, the system is also designed to provide gentle corrective steering for lane-keeping assistance.
Steering Assist
Toyota vehicles equipped with Toyota Safety Sense™ P (TSS-P) and Electronic Power Steering (EPS) include Steering Assist functionality. When activated, the system may detect unintentional drifting and may automatically make small corrective steering inputs to help keep your vehicle in its lane.
Available On: Standard on all TSS equipped vehicles
A camera on your windshield aids nighttime driving by using a camera to detect headlights and taillights of preceding vehicles, and toggling accordingly between high and low beams.
By using high beams more frequently, the system may allow earlier detection of pedestrians and obstacles, while also reducing glare for other drivers on the road.
When Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) is enabled and lane markers are visible, Lane Tracing Assist (LTA) uses the lines on the road and preceding vehicles to help keep the vehicle centered and in its lane.
Available On: Corolla, Corolla Hybrid, Corolla Hatchback, RAV4, RAV4 Hybrid. Feature availability may vary by vehicle and/or vehicle trim.
Using a forward-facing intelligent camera, Road Sign Assist (RSA) is designed to detect speed limit signs, stop signs, do not enter signs and yield signs, and display them on the Multi-Information Display.
All vehicle actions must be driver-initiated and are not automated.
